Haynes Amadeus Flute
What do you think of the Haynes Amadeus flute?

Wow, lucky you if you get a Haynes which are of course the best in the world!

That said, understand that the Amadeus line is NOT the same as the other std Haynes lines: they are made in China to take advantage of the low cost of assembly line labor using the same design and manufacturing technique... the difference is that the usual Haynes line made in the USA are made from a few master craftsmen here that have been doing it forever, i.e., a copy is not going to be the same. It is not just the sound, it is the durability and the care taken to assemble the instrument I would consider.

You may also want to try looking at a Muramatsu or Powell which are in about the same price range and have great reputations, and see which one you like better.
